Tips for Hiking with Kids!

Writer: trjumpertrjumper

The kids will have a blast with just a few added things and the rest of the fun will just be being out in nature!

We frequently go to a Nature Reserve that has a litttle creek area where the kids hike on a trail and then are able to walk in a creek area and catch some minnows and water striders.

From other mom friends, we got the idea to laminate and print out a map of the area for the kids to follow along with as well as a scavenger hunt laminated (see below for links). We located the Nature Reserve website to find the map and printed from a local printing company. I printed the scavenger hunts also, but just realized that this Amazon link below is actually cheaper than doing it on your own.

We also bought these light weight retractable nets for the kids to fish with and find water creatures to identify, don't forget a bucket to store your little sea life before tossing it back!

Of course we always bring snacks and drinks to stay hydrated and the basics: sunblock, wipes, diapers, bandaids (someone always trips!), and little bug key away stickers!

Hope you have a blast with your littles with some of our hiking hacks!
