Beach Trip Must Haves for Kids!

Writer: trjumpertrjumper

We had a blast for our annual July week in Ocean City, NJ!

BAG : I planned ahead by getting a new beach bag, because my previously used straw bag had to be replaced twice and currently has a sag in it, leading me to think it wouldn't make the trip, ugh. Of course I had to follow the current trend and get a Bogg bag, and it has lived up to all of the hype-- it's super sturdy, fits a lot of things, it makes it easy to locate all of the important beach necessities and.. it's super cute. (Future blog post to come on how I have been organizing my bag!). I opted for the dark green bag (mostly because I wanted my husband to be able to carry it with the kids as well), and I love it.. at one point, I looked around the waterpark and saw about 40 plus Bogg bags. I guess I am late on the trend? It's definitely worth the splurge, since it seems like it will last a long time and pretty much every bag I saw looked in NEW condition. We hung it on the handles of our beach cart to easily carry it to the beach every day. One negative for us stroller moms, is that it does not really fit well hanging off of the stroller, but it is super lightweight and can be carried very easily. I'm still debating on getting charms to personalize our beach bag, but I don't want to just get anything.. more to come on that topic.

TOYS: Regarding toys at the beach-- we packed our beachcart daily with all of the usuals, and interestingly enough, our paw patrol spray toy (it was older and I cannot find it online anymore, but I linked something similar) was the biggest hit with all the kids, we will definitely be bringing more than 1 next time. The kids sprayed each other, made a pretend car wash for their dump trucks with it to wash away the sand, squirted water at their sandcastles, etc. let's just say it never left someone's hand the entire day.

SUNBLOCKERS: We used my husbands beach hat, every day because it was in the 90s every day, and this kept the sun away from him, as well as the our Mama and Mini beach hats! After having 2 boys first and finally having a girl, I jump at the occasion to match her (while she will still agree to it LOL).

NIGHT TIME: The things that kept the kids super happy on their vacation (after the beach) were their daily bath bombs and character bath towels! I always try to bring something for the bath and they look forward to it.

At night, they stayed busy with some games and sticker books. We also enjoyed painting shells with our shell sprayer. This is really fun and easy, just make sure you put something underneath to prevent the table from getting covered!

So much fun at the beach! All of these things are simple things that can make your trip more enjoyable, but the number one most important thing is really just making MEMORIES!
